Hi,

maybe someone can advise or possibly help me here?????

ive just recently installed 3x1gig of ddr2 kingston hyperx memory: model no.(KHX8500D2/1G)

now i've run the adequite timings in bios as set to : 5.5.5.15.2T @ 2.2v

but cpu-z says its only 400mhz rated?

ok i admit i have only 3 sticks in 3 allocated memory slots in use, but surely even with the settings and voltages all set up correctly... what seems to be the problem?

my system specs are below::::

MAINBOARD - EVGA 780i sli

CPU - intel core2quad @ 2.4GHZ stock speed

MEMORY - kingston hyperX pc8500 @ 3 x 1 gig sticks @ 1066mhz DDR2

STORAGE - sampsung spinpoint F3 1TB hard drive

OPTICAL DRIVES - samsung dvd rom (S-ATA)  & liteon dvd-r/rw/ram drive(IDE)

VIDEO - ATI radeon X1950 pro@ 256meg GDDR3

PSU - OCZ MODXTREME @ 700W

BIOS REVISION - P10( newest bios updated)

OS - windows vista ultimate x86 (32bit)

i do hope that information will help and i do hope that someone can help me as this is pretty annoying ..

i will await any help that will be appreciated... Thank you

CPU-Z is exactly right buddy as DDR stands for Double Data Rate so you have to multiply the number CPU-Z gives you by 2 (400MHz x 2 = 800MHz).

And in your Bios you can set your RAM at 533MHz (or 1066MHz  depending on your Motherboard.)

Some people better at explaining than me will give you more detailed explanations in a few minutes/hours.

hi,

thanks for the reply, however if i upsteep the memory to 533mhz, then why in the memroy score rating so low in vista? i would of thought that by acheiving that i would get a bit better rating on the memory side of things?

Also with 3 modules you are running in single channel mode.

You don't have the correct DRAM frequency set in your BIOS.... or CPUz is reporting it incorrectly.

Boot into BIOS and tell me what your DRAM frequency is set to and what your BIOS reports it running at.

hi.

this is what my bios settings are for my memory speed::::

Fsb mcm = linked

Fsb memory ratio = sync

Fsb QDR = 1066mhz

actual fsb QDR = 1066mhz

Mem DDR = linked

actual mem DDR = 533mhz

my memory timining settings are = 5-5-5-15-2T

TRRD @ 2 = 2

TRC @ 16 = 16

TWR @ 3 = 3

TWTR @ 7 = 8

TREF @ AUTO = 7.8us

my ram voltage is set @ 2.2v

Update!!!!!!

just checked my bios on boot up and its showing the memory as 1066mhz

followed by 533mhz ram speed...

i hope that will give you more information?

i hope that will give you some guidlines
