Just before Christmas my son bought me A-10C Warthog and Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.2.

Very cheap he told me.

But guess what. A10 needs a very expensive joystick, $449. And a good memory. (I had Encephalitis when I was nine.)

 

H.A.W.X. 2 needs a good joystick as well. At least $79 min or $129 for a better one.

 

I was a fan of flight sims. My first ever game was F14 Tomcat on Commodore 64.

I can't flay these games, so it is a pity I can't give them away. They were bought via Steam.

At least I can continue with Torchlight 2. One of the three games.

Where did you get the info regarding the "required" joystick? I just checked Steam's site and the system requirements don't call for any joystick for either game.

Yeah you don't *need* a joystick, though the experience is greatly improved with the inclusion of one.

 

Are you thinking of getting one or were you simply ranting??

 

(Btw I LOVED the older A10 Warthog game when I was a kid, that was one of my favorite flight sims)

Kfire: IGN did a review of both games and there were to many buttons to press at once to enjoy the game of A10, so the reckon a good joystick was necessary. It is a hardcore flight Sim and i can't remember to many buttons.

 

IVIYTHOS: Basically a rant, but was wondering if somebody could come up with a way to take the game without me binning it.

                 I doubt I could enjoy the game anyway, as IGN said that it was more a job to do than a game to play. I enjoyed the A10 in Lockon but it was way to short a game. (And I could never get the hang of flying the F15.)

I see, yeah unfortunately you're stuck with them if they're steam only games .

 

Unless they were on a separate account, you could essentially sell that account. I'm betting they're in your master account though.

Oh yeah, I did get to fly the plane last night, so I geuss its not a total loss. I love the look of the plane flying. I can use 3 buttons so far.

gotta give that memory a chance. But at 66 its probably a losing battle.

I'd bind all flight manuevers to the mouse wheel and mouse. I remember that got me by handly when I used to not have a joystick for a while

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro - Definitely a better experience that keyboard + mouse Even a gamepad is better..
