Aliens: Colonial Marines

Set after the events of the second film, you and your squad of Marines are sent to investigate what happened to the Marines from the film. Being developed by Gearbox Software, the game looks downright amazing and scary. The sounds of it are captured perfectly even. I cannot wait for it to launch next year.

So what about the colony getting wiped out when the reactor overloaded in the second movie? I guess when you want to make a game you get to change what happens in the movies? Kinda silly. But still looks like a great game, and the last Alien game was good.
They haven't changed a thing.
You and your squad are a new set of Marines, NOT from the film. You go back to investigate what's left of the colony. Most of it is indeed destroyed, but there are still some tattered remains. It doesn't go against the storyline at all.

I know it's a new set of marines, but the explosion was supposed to rip the entire colony apart. That is why the "company" wasn't going back there, because nothing was left.

Exactly. You investigate what went wrong and what happened to the colony. Gearbox isn't changing the story, it's a direct continuation.

Again, you guys aren't reading my posts. The colony was destroyed. Remember how Bishop said the explosion would be the size of Nebraska? An explosion of the magnitude would not leave anything alive, or even left. They should have just used a different location, this doesn't go along with the movies.

Aliens: Colonial Marines begins with an ostensibly abandoned ship, the U.S.S. Sulaco, recovered in orbit around LV-426. Players lead a group of highly trained United States Colonial Marines as they board the deserted craft to uncover the fate of the crew. They will have to fight to survive unspeakable horrors and their own anxieties as they chase down the truth behind a galaxy-spanning deception that places humanity at the mercy of the most murderous and deadly species in the universe. Aliens: Colonial Marines features authentic environments, such as the surface of LV-426 and Hadley's Hope, weapons inspired by the film series and is designed to provide an exhilarating and engaging new chapter in the Aliens universe.

The game is now arriving on February 12, 2013, but it is looking great graphics-wise.
Escape competitive multiplayer mode trailer launched earlier today. Four Marines vs four Xenos. Sounds and looks awesome!
Slightly NSFW due to some language.
