They released an update where you can make items by breaking apart other items and turning them into metal. The when you have the right metals you can make certain items such as hats and weapons.

Not sure if that's a joke or you being serious. So I'll answer it anyways. Crafting doesn't mean playing the engineer and building things, its something else.

You get items drops randomly in TF2 whether it be hats or weapons. You then can used those items to smelt down into metals to craft things. Some of the crafts don't require you to use metals and you can just use the direct item with another to get a new one.

hehe, man the whole crafting thing really bugs me. What a silly feature to put into an FPS.

On topic, i have been waiting to see what will come of this update. Time to play some TF2

Considering TF2 is a humorous cartoon FPS, I don't see how it's a silly feature. You can create weapons, hats, and etc.
