You could back that psu down a little and save money too. Corsair/Antec/PC Power and Cooling 800w psu will run 2 4870x2's in crossfire easily. That being said, that 1 4890/5770/5850 oughtta be fine with less wattage.

I've heard that the Phenom II X2 can have two cores unlocked and OC'ed to 3.8GHz, this is a good deal as it's only $102 on Newegg.

I'd recommend you to switch the RAM to lower frequency and lower latency as I doubt AMD proccys are capable of taking advantage of increased bandwidth.. Hardcore gamer? 5850 or 5870 is the way to go.. CPU Cooler.. Try to get a Sunbeam CCF 120 or the ones I linked you to or TRUE 120 or Prolimatech Megahalems (I'm not sure if the last one comes for AMD) EDIT: Mobo Suggestion: ASUS 790FX 4 PCIe (same price) http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159769 This post has been edited by nns: Nov 10 2009, 07:11 AM -------------------- Processor: AMD Phenom II x3 720 (Stock Cooler) | Motherboard: ASUS M4A78T-E | Graphics: XFX GTS 250 1 GB Core Edition RAM: Transcend DDR3 1333Mhz CL9 2x2GB | HDD: WD Green 500GB (16 MB Cache) Cabinet: Coolermaster NV 690 | PSU: Coolermaster VX550 | Monitor: Samsung 940BW (19") |
