I was looking at some prices, and I saw the Phenom II x2 3.0 ghz was 89 bucks, thats a really good deal.
but is it stupid to still get dual core? or are they phasing them out. Because I honestly dont need a quad core....and this would work well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819103694 ^^ that is the CPU in question. thanks! -------------------- Antec 900 Case

We don't know if it going to be a replacement for his 720. If you don't need a quad there is no reason to get a quad. I am going to get a AMD 240 for my back-up rig as it is mainly used for surfing the net and some photo editing.

CRAP. i need to update my sig cause I ordered that phenom X3 II but the mobo was dead so I had to send it all back.
stuff happened and I didnt reorder. SOO technically the processor I have is an E6300 Core 2 Duo. and some intel mobo and stuff I mean I dont want to get a dual core if they are gonna stop making them and stuff -------------------- Antec 900 Case

From one Link fan to another,
Id go for a X3 if you have money and your just being stingy. If you are on a tight budget dual core is fine. The processor speed difference between them is negligible. This post has been edited by xchrissypoox: Nov 7 2009, 07:01 PM -------------------- ![]() |

anything you buy today is gonna be outdated and bad.
if the dual core is fast enough for what you need today and if its a good price then get it.. I dont like to plan too far ahead when it comes to computers because you pay sooo much money for something that will be crap when the time comes that you are trying to plan ahead for. (if that makes sence) -------------------- So what you're saying is that you read the title, ignored the OP's post, made a quick and reckless post, which by itself shows that you failed to do something as basic as reading the first post in the thread, and then got caught. Well done :thumbs-up: ____________________________ Case: Antec 300 CPU: Phenom II 940 MB: GIG MA790X GPU: (X2) XFX 4870 1gb Screen: (X2) Acer 23" 1920x1080 Ram: 2x2 Corsair Dom1066 PS: Corsair TX 750W Win 7 64bit HDD: 640GB WD 2x1TB For Media + Backup |
