Hey Guys

I came home candidly with my new i7 860 and p55 motherboard this morning and install it all. Won't boot into windows, no worries, I'll just reformat it while having lunch. Come back and the thing is fudged. The HDD won't even turn on, I presume fried, but how? So out I went to buy another 1TB from the store, load it up to windows and that's where I am now. I'll have to RMA the thing on monday. Anybody had any experiences like this? It is quite odd. On the other hand, this i7 860 is the bomb! tongue.gif

Cheers

I know I had a 7200.11 1TB that had the issue, and in light of this 2 western digital scorpio 500gb's have died on me in the last month.

Not all of them had the issue, it was a certain lot, and they resolved the issue. So they are getting rarer to find.

Storage is a necesity in modern times. I remember well when a pc had a 800m HDD and you could get everything on it. ( And smaller! )

I have to laugh at one of my servers, It's got two 9.1g fireballs in it. 10k baby! These are OLD too... 30 second spinup times. lol...

it was mostly the 7200.11 series, so that narrows it down even more.
