So I purchased Windows Vista Home Premium roughly 1 month ago, which came with the upgrade coupon from microsoft. I got the windows 7 upgrade disc in the mail yesterday but I'm thinking about installing it on a different computer than the one vista is now on. My question is: if I activate the Windows 7 Upgrade, will my vista install start bugging out about activation? i.e. is they key they gave me for 7 somehow linked to the vista key as to give me problems?

probably not but if it was an upgrade I believe you will be violating something.

As long as you have the new upgrade key it'll probably be fine.
