If you've bought a Windows 7 upgrade via Digital River, and you want to make a DVD for a clean install:
Activation / Product Key Issues This will only work afaik on the same disk you previously had Vista installed on. If you want to use a new disk then use the following steps:
Please only use this method if you own a full legal copy of Vista or XP and a legal 7 upgrade. If it all goes wrong, I can't accept any responsibility. I also don't take credit for these methods, I've simply condensed information that's already been circulated around the internet. -------------------- // Intel Q6600 SLACR // DFI Lanparty DK-P35-T2RS // 4gb OCZ PC2-8500c5 Platinum // 80gb Intel X25-M // EVGA 9800gtx+ // ESI Julia // Corsair HX1000 // Windows 7 Pro x64 // |

It looks like it's actually a full version of Windows 7 Pro as it didn't see if i had vista before and activated fine. It's probably all over the net, but news to me!
Edit: 262 downloads? Possibly my most useful ever post then -------------------- // Intel Q6600 SLACR // DFI Lanparty DK-P35-T2RS // 4gb OCZ PC2-8500c5 Platinum // 80gb Intel X25-M // EVGA 9800gtx+ // ESI Julia // Corsair HX1000 // Windows 7 Pro x64 // |

For some reason, I am getting an error:
ERROR: Unable to create file "C:\7.iso of ######### bytes. Erorr 5: Access is denied. I am sure that my user account is an admin account, and I've double checked that I have the correct files in the right spots. Are there permissions I need to change? Is there a certain way to run a command prompt as an admin other than BEING an admin and opening a cmd prompt? Thanks |
